Weight Section. Each Angler can weigh in a maximum of five (5) fish over the whole contest. This limit applies regardless of whether they are caught from a boat or land based and includes any light-line entries.
Measurement Section. In addition to the weight section, each Angler can submit a maximum of five (5) measured fish. This limit applies regardless of whether they are caught from a boat or land based.
Photos must be taken on an official MSFC measuring mat. All photos must include the Angler’s name and date of capture written on a piece of paper (or something similar) and placed next to fish in the photo.
Fish are to be measured with their mouths closed and against the butt of the board. The tail of the fish is to be open so that the “V” in the tail is clearly visible.
All measured fish will be rounded down to the full lowest centimetre. In the event of a tie the committee may use its judgement and smaller increments to determine the winner.
Photos submitted which do not comply with these rules will be disqualified.
Mystery Weight Section. All fish weighed will go into a draw for the mystery weight prize. Any senior Angler who has entered a fish will be eligible.
A random weight will be drawn and the closest weighed fish to the drawn weight will be the winner. In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by lucky draw.
The winner must be present at prize giving or a redraw will take place.
Mystery Length Section. All fish measured will go into the draw for the mystery length prize. Any senior Angler who has entered a fish will be eligible.
A random length will be drawn and the closest length fish to the drawn length will be the winner. In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by lucky draw.
The winner must be present at prize giving or a redraw will take place.
Light Tackle Section. In the optional light tackle section, the Angler’s single highest scoring fish will be counted. Anglers must also enter the main competition to be eligible for the light tackle section..
The points of each fish weighed are determined by the equation: fish weight x 100 divided by line weight.
Land Based Section. Rod and reel only. Open to seniors and juniors. No torpedoes, kites, or drones.
One prize per Angler. In sections excluding the light tackle and mystery weight and length sections, Anglers will be eligible for one prize only. This will be allocated to whichever category the Angler places highest in.
If the Angler has equal placement in both the measurement and the weighed category, the Angler will be put into the weighed category.
Recording catches. It is the Anglers responsibility to ensure both weighed and measured fish are loaded on the website. Any member can submit a catch for another member. All entries must be loaded on the MSFC website within 72 hours of capture and before the end of the competition.
