To be eligible for a Muriwai Club gate key you must:
MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS SET OUT BELOW PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Being granted a gate access key is a privilege not a right.
Being a member of the Muriwai Sport Fishing Club does not automatically entitle me to hold a gate key.
Allocation and issue of the keys is a Club Committee activity and responsibility. All key holders will be obligated to meet and observe any requirements of the Committee.
Access via the gate to the southern end of Muriwai Beach is for boat launching and retrieval purposes at the southern end of the beach only. Access for launch and retrieval further up the beach is to be gained only via the Coast Road and the stream cut out. The exception is in an emergency on instruction by the Police, Surf Club, Fire or any other acknowledged emergency services I will not use the key to gain access to the beach for any purpose other than boat launching or retrieval.
All keys granted to the Club by Auckland Council, for distribution to Club members remain the property of the Club. Any key granted to me is my responsibility and I hold any such key under bond to the Club.
I will not lend, copy or allow any key issued to me to be passed to any other person (club member or not) nor will I use or allow the key to be used to gain access to the beach by other Club members nor non club members.
I acknowledge the presence of the Telecommunications Cable Zone and undertake that I will not breach any lawful requirements ie anchoring or fishing within the Zone.
I undertake that having launched a boat and parked the tow vehicle and trailer on the beach I will not park in any such manner that will impede other vehicles on the beach or any users of the staircase accessing the public car park.
I am aware that launch and retrieval of boats can attract public interest and undertake to ensure as much as possible the safety of the public when undertaking boat launching or retrieval.
Any loss of a key issued to me is my responsibility and I will not be issued a replacement key.
Keys are for any period until the lock is again replaced by Council - currently proposed at two yearly intervals. When the lock is changed I will be required to again apply for issue of a new key and will be required to meet any such cost in that exercise as may be levied by the Club. Any breach of Club requirements or irresponsible behavior will render the key being recalled and being subject to any disciplinary action as the Club Committee may deem appropriate. Any issue of a key to me does not absolve me of skipper responsibilities in relation to all boating activities
